Weather in Nashville
The Changing Seasons
The weather in Nashville can change pretty quickly. We have a saying down here and that is “if you don’t like the weather, just wait a little while, it will change.” Let me give you a brief over view of Nashville weather.
I’ll begin with the winter season. It gets pretty cold in Nashville, usually in the teens at night but sometimes it drops to the single digits. The temperature ranges from the 20’s to the 50 during the day most of the winter. We don’t get a lot of snow, usually less than 2 inches and only once or twice during the season. The problem we mostly have is the wind chill factor. That wind is awful in the winter. The wind chill factor is frequently near zero. Springtime in Nashville can be beautiful, but it is very eventful. The temperatures sometimes change drastically during a day and when that happens we have tornadoes and floods. Nashville recently had a flood that was considered a
natural disaster.
Unfortunately this happens frequently in the spring. March, April and May are very windy so hang onto your hat. Summertime is hot and humid. Often your clothes will stick to you. Usually the months of July and August the temperature hovers in the upper 90’s during the day. Drink lots of water if you are outdoors and try to find a cool place during the hottest part of the day. Fall is gorgeous. Nashville has a lot of trees and the fall colors are beautiful. The temperatures usually range between the 40’s and 70’s for a couple of months. It is just a nice time of year.
