Halloween Monsters, Scary Ghost and more!

A bit of trick or treat safety will make for a fantastic Halloween.

Trick or Treating is a favorite activity of children. Nashville will be full of Halloween monsters, witches and scary ghost on Halloween.

Trick or Treat Safety In Nashville there are numerous safe places to trick or treat. Typically the Nashville shopping malls had out candy to a variety of different Halloween characters. Many Churches have “trunk or treats” or fall festivals on Halloween to provide a safe place for children to go trick or treating.

If you do decide to go door to door here are a few trick or treat safety tips to keep your family safe on Halloween.

When choosing Halloween costumes for children, be sure that they fit properly to avoid an injury from a fall. Light or bright colored costumes are more visible at night. Also mask can limit your child’s vision when crossing a street so encourage them to wear face paint.

If they still want to wear the mask make sure the holes for the eyes are large enough for them to see properly. Props such as swords, buttons, beads and hats with cords can be dangerous. Keep all of these things in mind when choosing costumes for kids.

Trick or Treat

Inspect candy for the safety of your child. It is actually rare for candy to be tampered with but it is so much safer to just inspect before your child consumes any of it. Have a healthy dinner before going trick or treating to keep your child from wanting to consume it right away.

Throw away any candy that is not commercially wrapped unless you trust the person who gave the candy. If you have a small child take away any hard candy or gum that the child may get choked on.

Street Safety is important as well. Adults should be with their children while they are trick or treating. If there are more than three children it would be a good idea to have more than one adult, this way if there is an emergency one adult can stay with the children while the other gets help.

Hold your children’s hands and tell children to remove mask if you are crossing the street. Adults and children both should carry flashlights so that cars can see you.

There are a lot of fun Halloween and fall activities in Nashville for the whole family. Check out short ghost stories and Halloween Haunted Houses to see some of these activities. Also you may be interested in going to some corn mazes or festival and events. These are generally safe and a lot of fun.
