The Ryman Auditorium

A Great Place to to see Nashville Entertainment!

If you have never been to the Ryman Auditorium you are in for a treat. Country Music Hall of Fame members often perform at here. You can see Grand Ole Opry members and newcomers perform as well. It is a great place to see some Nashville entertainment. It is one of the best Nashville tourist attractions in Nashville.

Country music isn’t the only type of music you will find here. Many different styles of music are performed here including, alternative, gospel, classical, jazz, bluegrass and musical theater.

Sometimes the Grand Ole Opry comes back home to the Ryman to put on a show. That’s right the this was the home for the Grand Ole Opry for more than 30 years until it moved out in 1974 leaving the Ryman vacant for the next 20 years. Finally the building was restored to its former glory.

In 2001 the Ryman was declared a National Historical Landmark. It is often referred as the Mother Church of Country Music.

Just think country music superstars like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash once played here. Today you may see superstars like Alan Jackson, George Strait and Taylor Swift performing here.

Wouldn’t it be cool to record your very own CD? Well you can if you visit the Ryman Recording Studio. The CD will have the Ryman Records label with your name and the title of the song you record.

You have to schedule an appointment, you can’t bring your own instruments and you can only sing one of the songs on their list.

But still, what a great opportunity to the experience of recording your own record. “If only I could sing….”

The auditorium can also be rented for various events including company holiday parties, dinners and receptions on stage with entertainment, private concerts and more.

The Ryman is open daily for tours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Concerts and musical theater are in the evening usually beginning at 7:00 pm.

For more information on the Ryman on concert schedules and venues just click here.

The Ryman is located in the downtown area of Nashville. Between taking a tour of the Ryman and catching the show you probably want to take time for dinner. There are some great restaurants downtown. There are also shops scattered through out the downtown area that you may want to visit.

Need need to know where to park? Actually I have found an organization called Park It! Downtown whose sole purpose is to promote downtown. They have a ton of information about downtown parking, shuttles and just getting around downtown.

I recommend you that you visit their website to find where to park downtown. They can do a much better job than I can on telling you the best place to park. The website is simply www.parkitdowntown.com

Get set for a night of great entertainment at the Ryman!
