Richards CafeDanny and I were invited to Richards Cafe to see our good friend Dale Allen perform.We were delighted with our Nashville dining experience we had at this restaurant. If you like cajun food and good music you will enjoy visiting this restaurant. You'll find jambalaya, creole, or gumbo on the menu and you'll enjoy hanging out for the evening listening to the music of songwriters performing all sorts of music.

Nashville restaurant
is actually in Whites Creek which is a community on the outskirts of Nashville on the north side. It is about 10 minutes from
downtown Nashville.
This is a small community and it is quiet charming. Richards is located in is an old historic building that has been renovated and it just has a comfortable atmosphere. You will feel more like you are in New Orleans rather than in Nashville when you visit this restaurant. We have visited there several times and one of the things that I like about it is the relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Ri'chard, as his friends call him, is just a nice person who talks to the customers and he makes you feel right at home. He has a staff to work, but he works right along with them doing a little bit of everything and somehow he manages to find time to perform each night as well.
The last time we were there he joined one of the visiting songwriters by playing some kind of drums. I want to say bongo drums but that is probably wrong. He joined another by chiming in with his harmonica which sounded like he had been playing with her forever. We also heard him perform solo that night. All I can say is that he is good at performing, he is good at cooking and you will be glad you decided to venture out to visit Richards Cafe. Directions from downtown Nashville, take I-24 West to Exit 40 (Old Hickory Blvd) and turn left. It will seem like you are going out into the country. Don't worry your are, but it is only 1.9 miles to Whites Creek Pike. The restaurant will be across the street from you. It is right on the intersection of Whites Creek Pike and Old Hickory Blvd. There are only a few parking spaces beside the building but there is parking in the lot across the street when there are not spaces available. Fontanel Mansion
is also located in Whites Creek. What is Fontanel? It is the former home of country music star Barbara Mandrell. They offer tours, it has a restaurant and a music venue.I also want to tell you about my friend Dale Allen. He is a songwriter here in Nashville and he is a lot of fun to watch. Dale is a character to say the least. He can be funny and it shows in his music.
His son Travis Pommer and his wife Mary Fallon also frequently sing with Dale. Travis has followed in his fathers footsteps and also writes songs. Centennial Park Every Wednesday in June watch Free Movies in the Park at Sunset at the Centennial Park Bandshell
Musicians Corner is also at Centennial Park every Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm. It is a great way to spend an afternoon.
