Nashville Shopping
Are you planning on doing some Nashville shopping when you
visit Nashville?
Nashville is a great place to shop. Whether you are doing some Christmas shopping or just looking for some souvenirs you can find if in Nashville. There are several
shopping malls in or around Nashville.

Most of the big malls seem to be on the outskirts of town or in a nearby town. Nashville has both outlet malls and regular malls. Some of the newer malls are the open air malls.
Opry Mills Mall
is in Nashville and hopefully it will re-open in November 2011. It has been closed due the to natural flood disaster we had in 2010. Check out the
Nashville Arcade
if you are shopping in downtown Nashville. It is actually a very unique mall that is about a 100 years old. It has several good restaurants to have lunch at too. Also in downtown Nashville you will find plenty of souvenir shops and several country and western stores all along 2nd avenue and Broadway. There are also a lot of art galleries in downtown Nashville as well. On weekends the
Nashville Farmers Market
has a flea market where locals sell their wares. Sometimes you can find some great stuff there. You can get specialty food products and fresh produce here too, not to mention gardenplants and planters. Hillsboro Village has a lot of locally owned trendy stores and art galleries. There are numerous independent restaurants to dine at and the Belcourt Theater is in Hillsboro Village. It is pretty popular place to shop especially if you are looking for unique items. If you are looking for souvenirs then downtown is probably the best place to shop. Music Valley does have a few souvenir shops and when Opry Mills opens back up they will most likely have souvenirs as well. Also you can usually find souvenirs in stores at any of the
Nashville museums
and at most of the
Nashville tourist attractions.
I hope you find some great deals and exactly what you want on you Nashville Shopping trip.
Donna's Corner
Did you know that Tennessee has a sales tax holiday every year? Every year usually the first weekend in August you don't have to pay sales tax which is almost 10%. The holiday is held in August and normally starts at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the following Sunday. The purpose is to help parents buy school supplies for their kids. The good news is that anyone can take advantage of it. Even more good news is that almost every store has a big sale going on the same weekend. Everything doesn't qualify for the sales tax holiday. Check out the
Tennessee website
to see the list of items that are eligible.
