Nashville Parking and Getting Around Nashville
Finding Nashville parking is a piece of cake most of the time but it can be expensive. The main place you might have a problem is in downtown Nashville especially when there are large
Nashville Events
going on. If you don't know where to look you might get a little frustrated trying to find parking with a reasonable price.
Not to worry, there are plenty of free and low cost places to park in Nashville. Free Parking There is a lot of free parking available if you are willing to take a shuttle or walk to where you are going. When there is an event going on at
Bridgestone Arena
you can park at LP field for free. It is about a 5 minute walkto the arena or you can catch the shuttle. It is only $3.00 for a round trip ticket. The shuttle normally runs two hours before the event until midnight about every 10 minutes. If the event starts after 9:00 p.m. then the shuttle will run til 2:00 a.m. LP Field also offers free parking during the day from 6:30 am-6:30 p.m. if you purchase a monthly shuttle pass or you can pay just $2.00 a day without a shuttle pass. To take advantage of LP Field Parking check out the
ParkitDowntown Website.
Another place to find free Nashville parking is around the
Bicentennial Mall State Park
and the
Nashville Farmers Market.
These are great places to visit. They are both in Germantown, not far from downtown Nashville. In fact you can walk to downtown from here but it will take you about 15 minutes. But why walk it when you can catch the
Music City Circuit
for free. The shuttle from Bicentennial Mall runs about every 10 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. The Music City Circuit also has two other routes that you can use once you get in downtown to get you where you are going for free. On weekends the Tennessee State Parking Lots are also free to use. The are also free to use in the evenings after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Several of the parking lots are near the Bicentennial Mall. There is more Nashville parking on the street. you can park at a meter after 6:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and all day on Sunday for free. Be sure to read the signs to make sure that you can park at the meter. Sometimes the city puts out signs, especially whenbig events are in town changing what hours you can park. They do enforce the meters and if you are parking where you should be your vehicle will be towed. If you are supposed to pay and the time runs out on your meter you will get a ticket. So just be absolutely sure you can park there. Low Cost Parking The parking garage under the
Nashville Library
is free for the first hour for library patrons and it is only $4.00 per day after 5:00 pm during the week and on weekends. It is within walking distance of
Nashville Convention Center,
the Ryman Auditorium
and other
Nashville tourist attractions.
Several
downtown Nashville restaurants
are also close by. There are entrances on both 6th and 5th avenues. The Metro Courthouse/Public Square Garage has an all day rate of $12 and for Tennessee Titans game days and LP Field events are $10.00. All other special event rates are just $3 bucks. The Metro Courthouse/Public Square Garage has entrances on James Robertson Parkway and Gay Street. It is especially convenient to LP Field, Riverfront Park and the Nashville nightlife on 2nd avenue and lower Broadway. The rates I listed for the two Nashville parking lots above have been the same rate for a few years now. They are subject to change without my knowledge but I don't think they will change much because both places are Metro Nashville owned lots. Downtown Parking Lots There are a lot of parking garages and parking lots in downtown Nashville. These can cost up to $20.00 per day but they are very close to downtown. So it is pretty much up to you as to whether you want to save money by taking shuttles or pay for the convenience of parking close to where you are going.
Donna's Corner
Most of Nashville parking is free. You are likely to have to pay for parking in downtown Nashville, and at some parking meters on West End Avenue. Also the
Opryland Hotel
charges for parking to their events. Other than those places you will probably not have to pay for parking. Enjoy your visit to Nashville.
