Christmas Singers

I plan to give you information about the annual events that are held every year here in Nashville on a month by month basis.

You will notice that May through September are missing. I actually wrote my first updates for annual events in October. Currently it is the middle of January. I plan to complete the future months as they come along. Here we go.

January Events

You would think that with the cold weather there would not be much going on in January but here are a few annual Nashville events that may interest you.

Sound and Speed comes to Nashville to raise funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp for children who are chronically or seriously ill, and The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum charities.

The Nashville Boat and Sports Show will be at the Nashville Convention Center for 5 days in January. You can find just about anything that has to do with water, from boats to fishing tackle.

Martin Luther King Day is celebrated in Nashville for nearly two weeks. The Let Freedom Ring and the Martin Luther King Jr. Day March is held on Martin Luther King Day.

The Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville is held in late January or early February. There will be experts there to answer your questions about gardening and antiques.

February Events

There are not a lot of events for February. I suggest that you check the schedules at the Sommet Center and the Municipal Auditorium for events as well sometimes they have some cool stuff going on that is not necessarily an annual event.

Annual Bluegrass Music Awards & National Convention is held every year the first week of February.

Valentine’s Day has no special events but it is a great time to take your sweetheart to a dinner theater. You get to see a live show and have a great dinner at the same time. Your date will love it.

March Events

There is not a lot of events going on in March either. Be sure to check out the festival and events page. There is a big festival going on this month.

It is also a great time to go shopping though. It is the end of the season and you can get some great deals on winter stuff and treat your self to a new spring wardrobe at the same time.

April Events

Spring is in the air and there are several Nashville events in the month of April.

The Southern Women’s Show is an annual event that takes place over a weekend in April. You will get a lot of information on women’s health issues, plus there is food, shopping and pampering that makes for a day of fun.

The Dove Awards is usually held the 3rd week of April. It is a ceremony to honor those voted Christian music’s best by the members of the Gospel Music Association. Usually there is a week of events that are associated with this event.

The Country Music Marathon is usually held the last Saturday in April. What is different about this marathon is that just about anyone can participate. I am proud to say I have completed the ½ marathon myself.

October
October is full of festival and events for you to choose from not to mention the Halloween Haunted Houses, short ghost stories and corn mazes.
November

The weather is beginning to cool down and there aren't a lot of outdoor activities or Nashville events during November in Nashville.

It is a great time to do your Nashville shopping for the Christmas holidays. Retailers are beginning to rethink their strategies to get more customers so they are offering deals before the usual Black Friday events that are usually held the day after Thanksgiving.

Also many of the the Nashville theaters Nashville theaters are now having their Christmas shows to get everyone in the spirit of the holidays.

December

The holiday spirit is abundant in the month of December. Country Christmas music as well as traditional Christmas songs are playing everywhere. The whole city of Nashville is decorated for the holidays during December.

Visit some of the historic homes around Nashville to see the splendor of holiday decorations. The Belle Meade Plantation, the Hermitage as well as the State Capitol will be decorated for the Christmas holidays. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel goes all out on the Christmas decorations not to mention the great Nashville events for Christmas that the offer.

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

You’ll be surprised at just how many Nashville events are available in Nashville every week. I hope you find a few things that you may enjoy to see or do.

Have fun!!!!!!!!

Donna’s Corner

Just to let you know that I am the primary writer of this website with some occasional help from my sister. It will probably take me most of the year to complete the festival and events for each month of the year.

The reason is that I have other subjects to write about as well. I will do my best to get the events listed before the month begins. I do hope you all enjoy it and if you have any questions or comments please contact me.
