The Nashville Christmas Parade

A Fun Free Nashville Event

The Nashville Christmas Parade is wonderful way to start the holiday season.

It is a lot of fun and it is free. Nearly 80,000 people attend this Nashville event annually.

The Tennessee Titans, the Nashville Predators and the Nashville Sounds are usually represented in the parade.

You'll see some cool floats, and more.

As you can see there is a lot of fun stuff to see. Before the parade begins there is the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony then there is the annual Christmas race. You will see lots of runners dressed in Christmas costumes.

The parade usually begins at the Titans Stadium comes across Woodland Street Bridge, down Second Avenue then up Broadway. You can plan on the parade lasting about 2 hours. You will probably have to pay for parking because it is in downtown Nashville but it is well worth it.

The parade is usually held on the weekend in the evening around 7:00pm and is over by 9:00. There is still plenty of entertainment to be found in downtown Nashville after the parade. Second Avenue and Broadway isfull of Nashville Bars with live entertainment to enjoy.

Donna's Corner

I love the Christmas parade. It is always such fun, especially when the weather cooperates.

This year (2010)we went downtown and parked in the parking garage on Commerce Street near 3rd Avenue. It cost 12 bucks for the night.

We were all in the mood for Mexican food so we walked to Elrey's Mexican Restaurant on 2nd Avenue and enjoyed a great meal.

When we heard the fireworks go off at the stadium, we paid and got outside. The first thing I saw was Elvis. I had to get a picture with him.

It made me feel like a tourist. Come to think of it I always feel like a tourist on vacation when I am downtown at night.

The temperature was about 40 degrees. It was not windy or rainy so it was great. We had a great time.
