Nashville Childrens Theatre
Great Place for Kids.
Nashville Childrens Theatre (NCT) has live performances that the whole family will enjoy. Nashville has a lot of
great places for kids
and this is one of them. You'll find shows like Sussical based on Dr. Seuss books and Goodnight Moon from another popular children's book. Kids will love it. The shows usually last about 70 minutes so it's not too long for most children. Sometimes it is hard to take children to the theatre, especially the younger ones. The good about this theatre is that if your child gets restless, you both can still see the show in the comfort room that NCT has set up for just that. Prices are reasonable, less that $20 for adults and about $12 for kids. Parking is free in the NCT parking lot beside the building and there is additional parking behind the building. The theatre is located at 25 Middleton St. between Hermitage Ave. and Second Ave. S. behind the Howard School building. This is only about 7 blocks from the
Nashville Entertainment
district in downtown Nashville. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 615-252-4675 from 8:30 to 4:00 or online 24 hours a day at the
NCT website.
Donna's CornerAnother place to see some children shows is at the
Nashville Library
They frequently have shows on Saturday mornings at the main library downtown. I never realized just how much I love live theatre until I moved to Nashville. Danny enjoys the theatre too. I think I would have enjoyed it as a child as well. I grew up in a small town and the opportunity to go see a play just wasn't an option. There are several
Nashville Theaters
are all over the city. Some of them are not very expensive either. Several of them are dinner theaters and there are just as many that not. The
Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC)
is probably the most popular one that actually has some broadway plays with famous stars.
