Long Hunter State Park
Long Hunter State Park is not very far from downtown Nashville and offers a lot of fun and relaxation. This is the only one of the
Nashville Parks
that sits on the shores of J Percy Priest Lake. When you
visit Nashville
consider visiting this park, it is just a beautiful park.
It is also a very large park with four sections, Couchville, Baker's Grove, Bryant Grove and Sellars Farm. J Percy Priest Lake has 14000 acres of water to enjoy. There are boat ramps for those of you that want to go boating or get in some fishing while on your
Nashville vacation.
You can rent boats at Couchville Lake during the summer. Maybe you want to go swimming. The park has a section of the lake roped off for swimming at Bryant Cove. It is a very nice area with picnic tables and rest rooms available. Couchville Lake also has picnic tables with restrooms but no swimming there. The park as lots of bike trails and hiking trails to enjoy. Some of them are short and some of the trails can take all day. It all depends on what you want to do. If you are interested in Archaeology the Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area is for you. Sellars Farm contains the remains of a Native American community that existed in prehistoric time. Donna's CornerI love visiting this park. The views are just incredible. Bryant Cove is my favorite. Take your camera when yougo. You may get some photos of small wildlife or maybe even some deer. I just wanted to also mention that you can rent boats from
Nashville Shores
as well. Nashville Shores is an outdoor water park and is not part of the state park but they are also situated on the shores of J Percy Priest Lake. You can rent pontoons at Nashville Shores but not at this park.
