The Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry started as a radio broadcast back in 1925 and is still providing live entertainment to millions of people today.

It is still the number one Nashville Tourist Attractions today.

You can still hear the radio broadcast on the radio, the internet and see the show on (GAC) Great American Country television.

But you can only see the show performed live here in Nashville !

Grand Ole Opry Stage

What can you expect to see at the show? That’s a good question because you never know who is going to drop in and play a few tunes. One thing that you can’t plan on in advanced is what entertainers are going to be there. The entertainment schedule is not complete until a few days before the show.

The list of country music singers that perform at the Opry is a long one. Entertainers range from country music legends like Loretta Lynn to new sensations like Carrie Underwood. You may see country music legend George Jones performing on the same night as a hot new star. Grand Ole Opry Jimmy Dickens

You will hear a wide variety of musical styles including country, bluegrass, gospel, comedy and more.

The shows are every Friday and Saturday night and Tuesday nights up through December 15th. All three nights the shows are at 7:00 p.m. and occasionally on Saturday nights they have a second show at 9:00 p.m.

Usually the show is at the Opry House, but sometimes they will have the show at the Ryman Auditorium.

Are you looking for some good old country music? Beginning in 2009 every Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. you can see "The Opry Country Classics" featuring the classic country songs and square dancing that have been around for years.

New artist will be performing as well as members of the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall Fame. It should be a great night of entertainment.

Sometimes special events are hosted at the Opry. The Nashville Star is sometimes taped here. The GMA Dove Awards are also hosted at the Opry House annually. It is the biggest night of the year for Gospel Music.

The Opry Complex is larger than you might think. It has the following venues:

Grand Ole Opry Patty Lovelace • The Grand Ole Opry House

• The Acuff Theatre

• The Opry Museum

• The Opry Plaza

• The Opry Shop

Tours are offered 7 days a week at 11:00 am, 12:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

You will get to see what happens behind the scenes.

Right after a tour would be a perfect time to visit the Museum.

You may also want to take a few quick steps across the parking lot and visit Opry Mills Mall while you are here.

Did you know that you can create an event of your own at the Opry? You can plan small parties to large events.

Click here to visit the Grand Ole Opry website for more information about the schedule of entertainers.

It is a great place to visit, you can't beat the Nashville entertainment.
