Fontanel Mansion
The Fontanel Mansion is a site to see. Just what is Fontanel? It is much more that a mansion. It was the former home and farm of country music star Barbara Mandrell. Now it is a favorite of the
Nashville tourist attractions
with plenty of live entertainment.
Much of the 135 acre property is wooded and there are some hiking trails and bike trails where you can enjoy the scenery. These are free to use daily Tuesday through Sunday. Pets on a leash are also welcome. You can put this on you list of
Nashville tours
that you want to take. You can tour the 27,000 foot mansion that has six bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and two kitchens. The home also has a two-story great room with a log pillar autographed by many of the home’s famous guests. In addition to all of this there is a firing range and an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool. The pool has actually been covered and turned into a dance floor. This is the only home of a country music star you can actually tour inside in Nashville. Country music memorabilia can be found throughout the home and, for the most part, guests are encouraged to touch, pick-up or play whatever they want. You can enhance your
Nashville dining experience
by enjoying some southern cooking at the Fontanel Restaurant. What is neat about this restaurant is that all the food comes from local farmers. Live music is also provided at no extra charge but if you want wine with your meal, bring your own. A new
dinner theater
called the "Music City on Stage" featuring up and coming artist. This will be held in the new Studio Gallery that was also recently added to the property. It actually doesn't begin until the end of May 2011. Fontanel Mansion has recently added an outdoor ampitheater that holds 4500 guest. There are some big stars lined up for the this year and not all of them are country music stars. Willie Nelson and Gretchin Wilson are scheduled to perform but there are also some rock groups like Chicago and Styx that are also scheduled to perform. Where is this place? It is in Whites Creek TN only about 10 miles from downtown Nashville. They have a FREE shuttle that runs from downtown Nashville from April 1 to December 31 on Saturday and Sunday - leaving the CVB visitors center in front of the

There should be something for everyone to enjoy at Fontanel.
Donna's CornerWhites Creek is a small community but it has some other neat places to visit.
A Cowboy Town
is in Whites Creek and it is a great place for kids to visit. One of my favorite restaurants is
Richards Cafe
in Whites Creek just down the road from Fontanel. My good friend Dale Allen performs there once a month and I usually try to go. Erisa Rei, another friend plays there from time to time as well.
