ElRey Mexican RestaurantThe ElRey Mexican Restaurant is another one of my favorite downtown Nashville restaurants. The food is great and most of the time the service is great too. I have probably dined there for lunch at least a dozen times, probably more. I have always had a good experience with the food.
This restaurant is in the heart of the Nashville entertainment district. You can dine there and just walk right onto 2nd avenue where you can enjoy the Nashville nightlife. It is also in walking distance some of the most popular Nashville tourist attractions as well. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining and they are usually packed at lunch time. They are full in the evenings too because the food is always so good. If you like Mexican food, this is a good place to eat. It is not a fancy restaurant but it has a nice and comfortable atmosphere. I took my niece,her husband and son to watch the Nashville Christmas Parade last year. We decided to eat at Elreys. It was the perfect choice because we just walked out the door and we were in the perfect spot to watch the parade. We had good service and finished just in time. As soon as I walked out the door, there was Elvis. I had to get my picture with him. I tell you every time I go downtown I feel like a tourist. I love it. Cheekwood Knights Live music and cash bars throughout the Cheekwood gardens from 6:00-9:00 on the first Friday of every month June - October
Centennial Park Every Wednesday in June watch Free Movies in the Park at Sunset at the Centennial Park Bandshell
Musicians Corner is also at Centennial Park every Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm. It is a great way to spend an afternoon.
