Nashville Vacation Fun, Issue #007--Nashville Concerts at Nashville Museums and Parks July 11, 2010 |
Nashville Concerts at Nashville Museums and ParksDid you know that Nashville concerts are held at several Nashville museums and parks? There are plenty to choose from and many of them are free.
The concerts at the museums have a charge but still make for a great evening.
What could be better than sitting on the lawn with a picnic basket, listening to great music and enjoying the time with you family or date?
Imagine sitting on the lawn of Belle Meade Plantation or at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens enjoying a concert. The scenery at these museums are incredibly beautiful. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts also has a series of concerts during the spring and summer called Frist Fridays. Plan to spend some extra time at the museums before the concerts. Cheekwood and the Frist Center both have extensive art collections and the grounds at Cheekwood are just beautiful. Belle Meade Plantation is beautiful as well and has strong roots in Nashville. You'll want to see how our ansestors lived in their day. The same goes for Metro Parks. If you are bringing kids be sure to bring some bread or crackers so that they can feed the ducks either before or after the concert. There is also a playground where kids can burn off some of their energy before the concert. Metro Parks offers a variety of free Nashville concerts. There are several at Centennial Park where the Nashville Parthenon is located. You can bring a picnic or purchase food at the Centennial Cafe. Full Moon Pickin Parties presented by Friends of Warner Parks. The parties are generally the 3rd week of the month during the summer and fall. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. You can purchase food at the event, but beverages are included in the ticket price. These are just a few of the places to find concerts in Nashville and enjoy the scenery of Nashville and middle Tennessee. |
